Bayswater

Bayswater is where central London stops being expensive. It runs along the north side of Hyde Park in W2, and an hour here costs well under the Knightsbridge rate for a location that is barely further from anywhere.

Where it is

Between Paddington to the north and Hyde Park to the south, with Queensway and Westbourne Grove as the two spines. Bayswater, Queensway and Lancaster Gate stations all sit inside it, putting you on the Central and Circle lines.

Why it is good value

The buildings. Bayswater is largely converted Victorian terraces rather than the mansion blocks of the postcodes south of the park, so the incall rents are lower and the hourly rates follow. You are five minutes from Hyde Park either way.

What is here

One of the deepest incall concentrations in central London, and a genuinely mixed roster rather than one nationality. Short notice works better here than almost anywhere else in zone one, simply because there is more choice within a few streets.

Booking here

More incall than outcall, which is the reverse of the hotel districts. If you would rather go to her than wait for a taxi to cross London, this is the area that suits that.

The streets that matter

Queensway and the roads either side of it hold the bulk of it, with more spread along Westbourne Grove and towards Royal Oak. It is walkable end to end in about fifteen minutes, which is unusual for a London incall district.

What it costs

From around £200 an hour, against £400 and up on the other side of the park. That gap buys you a ten minute walk. It is the clearest value in central London and the reason this area stays busy.

Worth knowing before you ring

Because the choice is dense here, ask what is actually free tonight rather than fixing on one profile. On a weekday evening there is usually somebody good available within the hour, which is not true of most of zone one.
