Mayfair

Mayfair is the top of the London market and prices accordingly. Expect £400 an hour and upward here, and expect the standard to match it.

Where it is

W1, in the West End, bounded by Oxford Street to the north, Regent Street to the east, Piccadilly to the south and Park Lane along Hyde Park to the west. Bond Street, Green Park and Marble Arch all put you inside it within a few minutes.

Why it costs what it does

Rent. A Mayfair incall sits on some of the most expensive ground in Europe and that comes out of the hourly rate rather than out of anyone’s margin. A higher price here is evidence of the postcode, not proof of a better hour.

Walk fifteen minutes north to Bayswater or west to Earls Court and the same booking costs meaningfully less. Whether that trade is worth it depends on whether the address matters to you.

What the bookings look like

Longer than the London average. Dinner dates and overnights are a larger share of the work here, partly because the hotels are on the doorstep and partly because the clientele books that way. Outcall to the Park Lane and Piccadilly hotels is routine and nobody at reception takes the slightest interest.

Give notice where you can. This is the part of London where the good diaries fill earliest, particularly Thursday to Saturday. Ring, say who you want and when, and we will tell you straight away whether she is free.

The incall stock

Fewer flats than the postcodes west of the park, and they are mansion block apartments rather than converted terraces. That matters practically: porters, lifts and no street level doors, which is why so much of the work here is outcall to hotels instead.

If you specifically want an incall in W1, book earlier. There is less of it than people assume and it goes first.

Worth knowing before you ring

Two hour minimums are common here and dinner dates are a normal request rather than an unusual one. If you want a straight hour, say so on the call, because it is not what this postcode is set up around.
